A Future for Memory: Art and Life After the Great East Japan Earthquake explored the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan through the work of artists, photographers, architects and filmmakers.

The exhibition was about loss and collective memory, but also about what comes after — how places are altered, how moments are remembered, and how life continues around them. My design grew out of ideas of time, fragility and interruption. I kept thinking about a single moment intersecting a much longer timeline: a crack, a line, a layer exposed like stratigraphy. The visual language became quiet and spare — pale, gauzy fields, white space, delicate lines and traces that feel suspended somewhere between the event itself and its aftermath.
