I designed this book to carry the exhibition’s sense of play, wonder and theatricality onto the page. The hand-drawn illustrations and lettering connect the cover and section openings to the gallery graphics, with hands, strings and shadows pointing to the different ways puppets come to life. Inside, a quieter layout gives the photographs and stories of puppet makers and puppeteers room to lead.
